Magic City: An America Fantasy
(The Brief)
Tell the story of Magic City without flattening it into spectacle. This was never just a strip club. It was a cultural institution where power, performance, money, and identity intersected. The challenge was to hold the fantasy and the reality at the same time, with honesty, nuance, and respect for the people who lived it.

(The Work)
ABCS joined at the very beginning, shaping the original pitch, visual treatment, and narrative direction that helped bring the project to life. From day one, the focus was clarity. What story are we really telling, and how do we protect it as the project grows?
Rooted in deep Atlanta ties, ABCS led casting for the dancers and supported story producing across scripting, interviews, and character development. Throughout production, the studio acted as a steady creative presence, aligning teams, supporting talent, and keeping the narrative grounded as the scope expanded.

The Impact
The series premiered on STARZ to critical acclaim and earned a Critics Choice Documentary Award nomination. It was recognized for its honesty, visual depth, and cultural integrity. More importantly, Magic City: An American Fantasy expanded the conversation around Atlanta’s creative identity and proved the power of stories built with care, trust, and intention.
